Today, I feel the pain, grief, sadness, and suffering of what happened to us those many years ago. I remember where I was, what I was doing, but this is not about that. It’s about what we feel together, then and now, and even in the future. The September 11 attacks gave us the monuments and memory of what we were, what we have become and what will be. It’s about strength, about not hating more than those that did this to us, to the families and the survivors, of which we are survivors also.  We have learned that hate was stronger on that day, but that hate will not prevail now or in the future. We are together as one, with as much love and tolerance as we can have, knowing our mistakes and knowing how to overcome. Life is brilliant, beautiful, full of love and laughter, and with it, we bring the memories of those that left us that day to a place of peace in our hearts and in our spirits where the light of good and love will never die. As the victims are now in peace, may we be in peace with them, today and always. S.

I wrote this during my group sessions here in Kona, and I wanted to share this with you like I did them.  They inspired me to share it.  It’s about healing…

Decisions are based on one’s love for oneself and their perspective deity.  The connection lies in the fact that “God” is within each of us.  How are we to be aware of His love for us if we cannot find our own?  God is inside oneself.  Love is inside oneself through God.  The only way to see it is to be aware of this love and let it grow.  Through goodness and the right decisions, the love inside will grow through God to you.  There’s the spark, the candle that lights the love inside and one needs to remember that the light flickers and dies and darkness takes over.  All one has to do is light the candle in the blackness of the soul and all darkness is diminished.

Here is another one:

Letting go:  Walk away from the problem for I am the only one with the key.  My key is rusted and weathered, and the key hole is antiquated and ugly; barely any space for the key, but I will push – I will persevere and my struggle to be free will be met with fortitude, and I will unlock, eventually and with strength, the door to my own prison to be free, and I will walk away and not look back.  There will be peace.

This is just my opinion, as much as I have learned through reading, witnessing, hearing, etc., it all comes down to this, it’s all about oil, period.  If we rack our brains around this, most intelligent people can see that whoever controls the oil, controls me, you, and the rest of the world. We can scream our asses off in being against any war, it doesn’t matter because wherever in the world there is war, they are fighting for oil.

On the premise, we see something else about those wars, and you know why, because we don’t want to think that people are dying because of our reliance on oil. News media won’t tell you what the truth is because they want to brainwash you into believing it is something else, but it’s not. It’s because we need oil to survive and the countries that know it are laughing at us and not only laughing but killing us, literally.

Most people also do not want to acknowledge the fact that we are hated, vehemently. It does not matter what we do, say, give in billions of our taxes, share, or anything civilized, these people will not change until all of us are dead, all of us.  Remember, it does not matter what we do.  These people are playing us and our stupidity is giving them the opportunity.

Back to oil, think about it.  Read and find out all there is about it; what countries we buy our oil from, why sanctions don’t work in Iran because we buy our oil from them, why the Egypt so called Spring is not working, why we have to negotiate with terrorist countries because of our reliance on oil. Once you know, once you have gathered enough information on the matter, and it’s just oil mind you, will you start to get the big picture.  All of our wars, all of the hatred, all of the deaths, and all of the evil that makes humans kill other humans, comes down to oil.  Realize this and things will fall into place.

Lastly, and this is really the reason why I wrote this piece is the fact that dependence on oil is our downfall.  We as consumers are killing our earth and it’s not looking great for the future. If things make you mad enough to deny it, all the more in killing Her. The story goes thus, protesters in ending the war in Afghanistan, protesters about our consumption of oil, protesters to get us out of every country we are so called occupying, and of course the old scapegoat of Israeli hatred because we chose life, drop their signs, put away their masks, plan other hate driven acts, and get in their car and drive home.  Get it, get in their car and drive home! How can they assume that wars are not for them to get in their car and drive home, drive to work, drive to the grocery store, or drive the kids to school? We are all hypocrites, myself included.  Although my answer to this principle is stop driving and/or give up the car, I know it is almost impossible, but is it? If we want to end the wars, stop driving.  If we want to save the Earth, stop driving. If we want peace, don’t let other countries that hate us hold us by the, well, you know what. Realize something strongly and if it is so, then things are not so impossible.  It can be done.  It starts with you and me.  Before I end this essay, I did sell my car and now ride an electric bike (smallplanetevehicles.com) to get around. It’s all local, which it should be.

If you have some information to share, please let me know and we can learn together.  Shira

I wrote these while at a restaurant this morn. I was inspired by the environment I put myself in.

I have no title for this one; maybe you can name it for me. It’s about eating:

Strapped in gluttonous revelry

Looking beyond the bondage

Tastes begotten, glorious infusion

It’s a mixed up world with plastic plates and

Confinement of plastic booths

Each and for every stomach-bellied lies

Masticate in each other’s pleasures

Enabling the famine

Delight the hunger

Happy Thanksgiving

On the other hand (name this one too!):

Touching, feeling, delight

Harvesting the joy of thanks

Always grateful for the gifts

Notwithstanding greed of others and ourselves

Keeping faith above reason

Single prayer for simple pleasure

Giving eternal in one’s course

Inviting spirits as below, so above

Victory a word in breath, pushing through our lips

Intriguing to understand and be aware

No one is alone

God is calling, cherish, thanks, and give always

Here’s to us all, bad and good. It’s time to elevate ourselves to an already higher cause. Time to move on and time to make a difference in your life as well as others, especially the not-so-fortunate souls.

Shira’s note: I came across this video this morn. It is very thought provoking to some. For others, it is downright wrong. All I know for sure is, it is more factual than some might agree. For this, it brings out the very worst in people. If truth be told, it should be the other way around. Shira

Okay, question 1: What is cap and trade? If you answered a capitalistic measure of pollutants by emission trading, you are correct.

Question 2: Where lays the onus for cap and trade? Climate change, either warming or cooling, has been debated for decades now. Depending on where you stand on this issue, the burden of proof lies in consumerism via CO2. On the other hand, according to Joseph D’Aleo, co-founder of the Weather Channel and executive director of ICECAP (International Climate and Environmental Change Assessment Project), who stated in the 2009 Old Farmer’s Almanac that the US annual mean temperature has fluctuated for decades and has only risen 0.21° Fahrenheit since 1930. He goes on to say that this is caused by fluctuating solar activity levels and ocean temperatures and not carbon emissions. Mr. D’Aleo is not alone.

This unequivocally differs from the ongoing barrage of global warming issues, facts and myths. In essence, signatures from 31,487 scientists/physicists compiled from 1997 to 2007 with a new review incorporating research literature up to 2007 results in this overwhelming statement of the Global Warming Petition Project (petitionproject.org): “There is no convincing scientific evidence that human release of carbon dioxide, methane, or other greenhouse gases is causing or will in the foreseeable future, cause catastrophic heating of the Earth’s climate.”

So… here is the dilemma. Let’s make a comparison: we have a scientifically proven environmental campaign that states that the Earth is not warming, and in fact, cooling by thousands of scientists with scientific data from around the world, or, the movie An Inconvenient Truth’s message by Al Gore, et al, that contains “many serious, incorrect claims which no informed, honest scientist could endorse”, as stated on the Petition Project’s website.

As easy as it sounds from both sides of global warming or cooling, it is still the environmental Rubik’s cube. The question remains, as consumers, what do we choose, how do we filter what we are told or what we read in order to come to a solution to our pollution? The answer could be, if we create a capitalist society built on consumerism and materialistic values, we could not choose, for if we did, it would be based on hypocrisy because we were made to consume and consuming we are, to the detriment of our home and ourselves.

In the all-encompassing macrocosm of warmer temperature issues, it is easy to get mired in the muck of scientific data, political views and motivations, and the ever challenging, ‘what is the answer to global warming?’ Research has shown from prolific scientists on both sides of the aisle of, is it global warming or just panic stricken multitudes of concerned inhabitants of this Big Blue Beautiful World we call home? Why is it so hard to take care of our home?

According to the International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) in a 2007 report it states: “Most of the observed increase in global average temperatures since the mid-20th century is very likely due to the observed increase in anthropogenic greenhouse gas concentration”. The ‘greenhouse gas’ is mainly CO2. Anthropogenic means we are all responsible, not technically, but in a way; anthropogenic means of or relating to the study of the origins and development of human beings. A statement as this should grab our attention to take more action against global warming, but then you have this from a 2009 report, authored by physicists, David H. Douglas, PhD, and John Christy, PhD, on rising global temperatures. In their scientific summary http://www.pas.rochester.edu/~douglass/papers/E&E%20douglass_christy-color.pdf, the answer to global warming is easily read as, “… (Their) conclusions are contrary to the IPCC 2007 statement”. The statement is quoted above.

It is plain to all of us that in order for us to move past these objective or subjective views, whatever the motivations, we as a people need to do our part and educate ourselves more in depth. For us to make a difference whether you agree it is global warming or not, it is obvious we are having some impact on the world, and if we do not act, life will be hell on Earth, and I’m not just talking temperature.

In 2011, we are witnessing global crisis never before seen. Unfortunately, it is only when we cannot live on a day-to-day basis that we are accustomed to, when we cannot afford the gas, when our lifestyles are completely changed then it will be time to take a look at what’s happening and ipso facto do something about it.

We that believe in facts in the face of ignorance and misconceptions from that fact, and anti-semitism, call it like it is, and will you find summaries like this below. In the text of another (Rowan Dean), it’s their neurotic ploy as ‘Revelance Deprivation Syndrome’ (or RDS). Please read and teach.  We need all the help we can get.  Also, I have inserted a very important letter we should share. S.

The Upcoming Flotilla to the Gaza Strip.

To: Representatives of the Foreign Press in Israel

Re: Press Participation in the Flotilla

Dear friends,

A flotilla of ships is due to arrive soon in the Middle East in order to try and enter the Gaza Strip. This flotilla is a dangerous provocation that is being organized by western and Islamic extremist elements to aid Hamas, which the world defines as an extremist Islamic terrorist organization.

Those participating in the flotilla have declared that it is their intention to “break” the naval blockade that has been imposed on the Gaza Strip for security reasons, given Hamas’s efforts to smuggle weaponry and terrorists into the Gaza Strip.

The flotilla intends to knowingly violate the blockade that has been declared legally and is in accordance with all treaties and international law. The Government of Israel has instructed the IDF not to allow the flotilla to reach its goal.

As the Director of the Government Press Office, I would like to make it clear to you and to the media that you represent, that participation in the flotilla is an intentional violation of Israeli law and is liable to lead to participants being denied entry into the State of Israel for ten years, to the impoundment of their equipment and to additional sanctions.

I implore you to avoid taking part in this provocative and dangerous event, the purpose of which is to undermine Israel’s right to defend itself and to knowingly violate Israeli law.

Please pass along the contents of this letter to your editorial boards around the world.

Sincerely,

Oren Helman, Director
Government Press Office

There’s major shifting in and about Israel’s politics/existence/polemics/justice and the oh…I wish I didn’t have to say it…ignorance. There is so much I have read, seen and continue to hear and to be quite honest, am angry about it. Of course, all of the above is the reason why I started this blog, for my love for who we are, gentile and Jew alike, supersedes any ongoing newsworthy issues. I’m not apathetic towards issues, just a prioritization between my spirit and Israel.

With that, I am not going to post the verbose and superfluous talking heads’ opinions at this time and just present to you, the reader, to request a certain question that you might have and share it here for us to ruminate between fact and fiction. There are many resources to choose from and in this way, we are taking root, whether it be learning, sharing or speaking about principles, we are changing the world, whether you believe it or not; something tells me you do.

All the best, Shira

In Hebrew, Pesach reads ‘a talking mouth.’  Pesach celebrates freedom, first and foremost – freedom of speech.  Baruch HaShem…Thank G-d for all that we have as a democracy here in the States. On this holiday and always may we become united in our power of speech to increase the Divine, benevolence and beauty in balanced equilibrium.
